OMG is an exploration between the relationship between fine art and persuasive commercial art. It challenges the notion that fine art is by nature inaccessible to the common consumer and, conversely, that once something becomes accessible or relatable to the public it is no longer fine art.
Throughout human history our cultural ideologies have been formed by mythology and religion manifested as art and stories and only peripherally influenced by commerce. With the modern era the pendulum has swung to an extreme with commerce informing on nearly all of our decisions and honest artistic expression has been thrown into the far reaches of culture.
OMG intends to create a new mythology that values pop culture but recognizes that complete immersion means a total loss of autonomy and a giving over to the all-powerful Commerce.
